Class Schedule:
The following is a list of classes currently being offered by the New Braunfels Red Cross office:

All classes are held at the office at the corner of the old county courthouse. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. You may register by mail, phone or in person at the Red Cross office.

At various times during the year, the office also offers classes in life guarding, swimming, water safety, etc.

First Aid
Standard First Aid
A one-day class taught on Saturdays which teaches you how to help anyone aged 9 or older who has a choking, breathing or cardiac emergency. Includes care for sudden illness or injury. Participants who pass two written quizzes and skill checks will be issued adult CPR and first aid certificates. Take home text included.

Community First Aid & Safety
Learn how to help any victim in a breathing, cardiac or sudden illness or injury emergency. Participants who pass written quizzes and skills checks will receive Community CPR and first aid cards. One-day class.

Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Community CPR
Learn how to help an infant, child or adult with a choking, breathing or cardiac emergency in this one-day course. Participants who pass two written quizzes and skill checks receive Community CPR cards.

 

CPR & First Aid for Child Care Providers
Meet your state training requirement in this one-day course. Learn Red Cross-certified first aid and CPR skills for helping children and infants. Learn what to do in a choking, breathing, cardiac, sudden illness or injury emergency. Participants who pass two written quizzes and skill checks receive Infant/Child CPR and first aid cards.

 

CPR & First Aid Recertification
For those who have had CPR within the last 12 months and/or first aid within the last 36 months, this challenge format allows you to test out on the written quizzes and skill checks. Study first. No instruction included.

Instructor
First Aid & CPR Instructor
In this three-day course, you will learn how to teach basic first aid and CPR using the Red Cross Curriculum. You must be at least 17 years of age. A prerequisite class to the Instructor Candidate Training (ICT) is held on the first Saturday. On the weekend following the prerequisite class, candidates are tested on basic CPR and first aid skills. Attendance at all three class sessions is required for certification.

Babysitting
This one-day course teaches basic skills for beginning babysitters, including sessions on child development, discipline, working with parents, basic infant care and first aid. Includes a babysitter's guide, first aid kit and pin. Bring a lunch, drink and doll for practice sessions.
