for Obtaining a Marriage License

Congratulations on your upcoming Marriage!!
Both
parties are required to appear together in our office to make application for a
Marriage License.
The fee to obtain a marriage license is $42.00 in
cash only.
It is required by the State of Texas that both parties
produce valid picture I.D. and a social security card if a U.S. citizen. If you are unable to comply with these
requirements, we will be happy to discuss your situation to see if there may be
an alternative solution.
Both parties will need to know the city, county and
state of their birth.
If either or both of you have ever been married and
divorced, the divorce must be over 30 days.
If one or both parties are under 18:
one
parent or legal guardian will have to sign for consent. Proof of legal custody or guardianship will
be required as well as valid picture I.D. and social security card. There is an additional $1.00 assessed for
this procedure.
There is a 72-hour (3 day) waiting period to use the
license. This means you must purchase
your license a minimum of 72 hrs to the day and minute prior to your
wedding. The marriage license will be
valid for a maximum of 30 days from the time of purchase. The license must be returned to our office
within 30 days of the event for recording.
Please allow 20-30 minutes when making application for
your marriage license.
