NOTICE OF MEETING

COMMISSIONERS' COURT OF COMAL COUNTY TEXAS

NOTICE is hereby given that a REGULAR meeting of COMMISSIONERS' COURT will be held on Thursday, the 31st day of October, 2002 at 8:15 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Courtroom, 199 Main Plaza, New Braunfels, Texas.

CALL TO ORDER

EACH REGULAR SESSION WILL BE OPENED WITH A PRAYER AND PLEDGES TO THE FLAGS-ANYONE NOT WISHING TO PARTICIPATE MAY BRIEFLY LEAVE THE COURTROOM.

8:15 a.m. ACTION AGENDA:

The following subjects will be discussed, considered, and acted upon:

1. Claims.

2. Introduction of new hires(s) and authorize County Judge to sign new hire checklist(s) and job descriptions(s) as appropriate.

3. Treasurer’s Monthly Investment Report-September 30, 2002.

4. Amendment to Plat:

a. Comal Hills, Unit No. 1, Block 4, combining Lots 269, 270 and 271, establishing Lot 269R, within Comal County Texas. (Pct. #4)

b. Comal Hills, Unit No. 1, Block 1, combining Lots 418, 419 and 420, establishing Lot 418R, within Comal County Texas. (Pct. #4)

5. Set time, date and place for public hearing to consider placement of certain regulatory signs on County roads. (Pct. #1)

6. Acknowledge the proper construction of the public roads within River Chase, Unit Four, and release associated surety, Construction Bond #26-13-01. (Pct. #4)

7. Vacate and Replat of:

a. Lots 1049 and 1050, Mystic Shores, Unit Nine, into Lots 1049R and 1050R within Comal County Texas. (Pct. #4)

b. Lots 549, 550, and 551, River Chase, Unit Five establishing Lot 549R, within Comal County Texas. (Pct. #4)

8. Final approval of Tanamara Subdivision, Unit Two, accept dedication of public right of way, and grant variances. (Pct. #1)

WORKSHOP AGENDA:

1. Report from Elected Officials and Staff.

2. Report from Citizens.

ACTION AGENDA CONTINUED:

The following subjects will be discussed, considered, and acted upon:

9. Presentation of retirement plaque to Edgar J. Menn, Road Department, for 16-1/2 years of service to Comal County.

10. Proclamation to declare Monday, November 4, 2002 as "Stephen Fuller Austin Day" in Comal County.

11. Refunds (over $500.00) of ad valorem tax overpayments or erroneous payments and authorize the Comal County Tax Assessor-Collector to remit refund payments.

12. Project Agreement between United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service and Comal County for debris removal along the Guadalupe River resulting from the flood event of July, 2002 and authorize County Judge to sign said agreement.

13. Declare certain county property as surplus to be auctioned at Nov. 16, 2002 at New Braunfels Police Department starting at 10:00 a.m.

14. Hire replacement clerk in the District Clerks office for the remainder of 2002 from funds already budgeted.

15. Budget Amendment for Purchasing from: General Fund Reserves to: Purchasing-Electrician’s Salary and Benefits lines to fund new electricians position as approved in Commissioners Court on May 9th for remainder of 2002.

16. Authorize forklift for Household Hazardous Waste and Recycling Department.

17. Award Bids for forklift for Household Hazardous Waste and Recycling Department.

18. EXECUTIVE SESSION as authorized by Government Code Section 551.071 for Consultation with an attorney.

19. If necessary discuss and take appropriate action in any and all items or matters discussed in executive session.

I, the undersigned, County Clerk, of the Comal County Commissioners’ Court do hereby certify that the above Notice of Meeting of the Comal County Commissioners’ Court is a true and correct copy of said Notice. I received and posted said Notice on the bulletin board at the Southeast entrance of the Old Courthouse located at 100 Main Plaza at a place readily accessible to the general public at all times on the 28th day of October 2002, at 8:15 a.m. Said Notice remained so posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of said Meeting.
