NOTICE OF MEETING

COMMISSIONERS' COURT OF COMAL COUNTY TEXAS

NOTICE is hereby given that a REGULAR meeting of COMMISSIONERS' COURT will be held on Thursday, the 31st day of July, 2003 at 8:15 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Courtroom, 199 Main Plaza, New Braunfels, Texas.

CALL TO ORDER-EACH REGULAR SESSION WILL BE OPENED WITH A PRAYER AND PLEDGES TO THE FLAGS-ALL PERSONS IN ATTENDANCE ARE WELCOME AND FREE TO PARTICIPATE OR NOT AT THEIR PERSONAL DISCRETION.

8:15 a.m. ACTION AGENDA:

The following subjects will be discussed, considered, and acted upon:

1. Claims.

2. Acknowledge the proper construction of the storm water drainage improvements within River Chase, Unit Five, and release the associated surety, Construction Bond No. SS6164. (Pct. 1)

3. Accept roads within River Chase, Unit Five, into the Comal County Unit Road System, and release the associated surety, Construction Bond No. SS6160. (Pct. 1)

4. Determine platting requirements for approximately 17.057 acres of land being out of the Otto V.D. Decker Survey No. 556, Abstract No. 135 and the G.W. T. & P.R.R. Co. Survey No. 875,Abstract No.721, within Comal County, Texas. (Pct. 1)

5. Final approval of River Crossing, Unit Six. (Pct. 1)

6. Approve a warranty deed with Comal County granting 0.111 of an acre to Sidney N. Sparkman and Alysha Nichols Sparkman, and approve a warranty deed with Sidney N. Sparkman and Alysha Nichols Sparkman granting 0.147 of an acre to Comal County, and authorize Commissioner Kennady to sign appropriate documents. (Pct. 4)

7. Determine platting requirements for 5.41 acres being out of approximately 72.0 acres out of the Isaac Lowe Survey, Abstract No. 287, within Hays and Comal counties. (Pct. #4).

ACTION AGENDA CONTINUED:

The following subjects will be discussed, considered, and acted upon:

8. Approve proposed private street name;

A. Lazy Wolf Bend at 6420 FM 1863 (Pct. 2);

B. Resource Drive for new county offices located next to Comal County Road Depart. (Pct. 2).

9. Accept resignation of Raymond Arehart from the Rural Fire Department #4 Board and appoint Jack Schoettle as replacement with a term to expire December 2004.

10. Approve Comal Appraisal District budget for 2004.

11. Approve Resolution:

a) #2003-45 to encourage the Texas Department of Transportation to proceed with the Gruene Bridge project;

b) #2003-46 in support of joining Alamo Area Council of Governments Alamo Regional Transportation (ART) Program.

12. Approve 2004 Texas Department of Health Immunization Grant Proposal for Immunization Program to Comal County Public Health.

13. Approve budget amendment to establish a line for gas & oil in the Emergency Management Department.

14. Approve line-item transfers in Road & Bridge Fund and Parks Fund to supplement lines for the remainder of the budget year.

15. Approve budget amendment for Recurring Contracts to Salary and benefit lines for the remainder of the budget year to accommodate the hiring of Mark Livernois.

16. Open bids for Hidden Valley Sports Park Restoration project to repair damages caused by July 2002 Flood.

17. Award bids for existing Sheriff’s Office/ Jail Camera System to be upgraded, and add cameras where necessary.

EXECUTIVE SESSION as authorized by Government Code Section 551.071 for Consultation with attorney.
