NOTICE OF MEETING

COMMISSIONERS' COURT OF COMAL COUNTY TEXAS

NOTICE is hereby given that a REGULAR meeting of COMMISSIONERS' COURT will be held on Thursday, the 21st day of August, 2003 at 8:15 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Courtroom, 199 Main Plaza, New Braunfels, Texas.

CALL TO ORDER

EACH REGULAR SESSION WILL BE OPENED WITH A PRAYER AND PLEDGES TO THE FLAGS-ALL PERSONS IN ATTENDANCE ARE WELCOME AND FREE TO PARTICIPATE OR NOT AT THEIR PERSONAL DISCRETION.

8:15 a.m. ACTION AGENDA:

The following subjects will be discussed, considered, and acted upon:

1. Claims.

2. Approve Revised Comal County Community Plan for submission to Alamo Area Council of Governments.

3. Amendment to Plat:

a.) A Replat and Extension of Cypress Cove, Section Nine, combining Lots 756 and 757 into Lot 756R. (Pct. # 4)

b.) Rocky Creek Ranch, Phase Eight, combining Lots 248 and 249 into Lot 248R. (Pct. #4)

4. Review the Road Crossing Permit policy for the Road Department, and direct the County Engineer to take appropriate action. (Pct. #1)

5. Approve quitclaim deed for a portion of Flintstone Drive adjacent to Lot 353 and Lot 354, Canyon Lake Mobile Home Estates, Unit 3, being sixty feet in width and 120 feet in length, and authorize Commissioner Dawson to sign said quitclaim deed. (Pct. #1)

6. Final approval of River’s Edge at Mystic Shores, Unit One, accept Construction Bond No. B21871382 as road surety, and accept dedication of right-of-way. (Pct. #4)

1. Report from Elected Officials and Staff.

2. Report from Citizens.

 

ACTION AGENDA CONTINUED:

The following subjects will be discussed, considered, and acted upon:

7. Approve proposed private street name, Elmendorf Lane. (Pct.#1)

8. Discuss and approve software vendor for property tax collections.

9. Discuss and consider waiver of penalties and interest accrued on ad valorem taxes and take appropriate action.

10. Approve Tax Assessor-Collector’s Monthly Collection Report – July 2003.

11. Fill vacancy on Rural Fire Department #4 Board of Commissioners with Rags Johnson due to Raymond Arehart’s resignation and Jack Schoettle declining the appointment with a term to expire December 2004.

12. Approve Resolution #2003-47 naming members to Comal County Tax Abatement Compliance Committee.

13. Approve County Indigent Health Care Optional Services for fiscal year 2003-2004.

14. Authorize acceptance of Law Enforcement Block Grant for Year 2003 in amount of $15,520 with a 10% match.

15. Accept donation from the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 4068, in the amount of $2,500 for the purchase of equipment, digital cameras, and approve budget amendment in the Sheriff’s office Non-Capital equipment for the same.

16. Discuss and take appropriate action on outdoor burning.

17. Authorize requesting bids for South Access road Rip-Rap Construction within Comal County.

18. Executive Session as authorized by Government Code Section:

551.071 for Consultation with Attorney;

551.072 for Real Property;

551.074 for Personnel Matters;

551.087 for Deliberating economic development negotiations.

19. If necessary, discuss and take appropriate action on any and all items or matters discussed in Executive Session

I received and posted said Notice on the bulletin board at the Southeast entrance of the Old Courthouse located at 100 Main Plaza at a place readily accessible to the general public at all times on the 18th day of August 2003, at 8:15 a.m. Said Notice remained so posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of said Meeting.
