NOTICE OF MEETING

COMMISSIONERS' COURT OF COMAL COUNTY TEXAS

 

NOTICE is hereby given that a REGULAR meeting of COMMISSIONERS' COURT will be held on Thursday, the 5th day of August, 2004 at 8:15 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Courtroom, 199 Main Plaza, New Braunfels, Texas.

CALL TO ORDER-EACH REGULAR SESSION WILL BE OPENED WITH A PRAYER AND PLEDGES TO THE FLAGS-ALL PERSONS IN ATTENDANCE ARE WELCOME AND FREE TO PARTICIPATE OR NOT AT THEIR PERSONAL DISCRETION.

8:15 a.m. ACTION AGENDA:

The following subjects will be discussed, considered, and acted upon:

1. Claims.

2. Public hearing to consider the placement of certain regulatory signs on County roads, and approve placement of said signs. (Pct. #4)

3. Amendment to Plat:

a. Canyon Lake Forest, Unit No. 1, combining Lots 577 and 582 into Lot 577R. (Pct. #1) b. River Crossing, Unit Three, combining Lots 461 and 462 into Lot 461R. (Pct. #1)

WORKSHOP AGENDA:

l. Reports from Elected Officials and Staff.

2. Reports from Citizens

3. Presentation of V. G. Young Institute certificates for 46th Annual County Judges & Commissioners’ Continuing Education Conference.

ACTION AGENDA CONTINUED:

4. Recognition of Patricia Anderson Rasor, Comal County Extension Agent-Family and Consumer Sciences for years of service to Comal County.

5. Accept donation of tools from the Comal Extension Program Council for use at the Comal County Extension Office.

6. Accept donation of $3,917 from Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce to Constables Precinct #1 and #4 to purchase bullet proof vests.

7. Approve and accept the 2004 Law Enforcement Block Grant in the amount of $8,073.00 with a matching amount of $897.00.

8. Ratify signature of Acting County Judge on Bioterrorism Grant proposal.

9. Authorize and ratify the Lower Colorado River Authority grant project contract for Hidden Valley Sports Complex and authorize County Judge to sign.

10. Approve Resolution in support of a House Bill in favor of a ½ cent sales tax on fuel to be used for County Roads and Bridges.

11. Approve Resolution authorizing the filing of a second amendment to the articles of incorporation of the Alamo Area Housing Finance Corporation; appointing the County Judge or his designee as the member of the Board of Directors of the Alamo Area Housing Finance Corporation; and other matters in connection therewith and authorize Commissioners Court to sign.

12. Approve renewal of Interlocal Agreement between Comal Independent School District and Comal County Sheriff’s Office for law enforcement services for 2004/2005 and authorize County Judge to sign.

13. Consider and approve Interlocal Agreement by and between Comal County and Comal Independent School District for tax assessment and collection services, and authorize County Judge to sign.

14. Discuss and consider prohibiting outdoor burning.

15. County Judge presents recommended budget to Commissioners’ Court and files with the County Clerk.

16. Discuss tax rate, take record vote and set date for public hearing.

17. Approve line-item transfer in Computer Services from: Recurring Contracts to: Non-capital Equipment to cover the cost of equipment destroyed by electrical storms.

18. Approve line-item transfer in Maintenance of Buildings from: Maintenance- Commissioners’ Court Building to: Repairs – Major to cover cost of Annex roof repairs.

19. Continue to meet….EXECUTIVE SESSION as authorized by Government Code Section 551.071 for Consultation with Attorney.

20. If necessary, discuss and take appropriate action on any and all items or matters discussed in Executive Session.

I, the undersigned, Clerk of the Comal County Commissioners’ Court do hereby certify that the above Notice of Meeting of the Comal County Commissioners’ Court is a true and correct copy of said Notice. I received and posted said Notice on the bulletin board at the Southeast entrance of the Old Courthouse located at 100 Main Plaza at a place readily accessible to the general public at all times on the 2nd day of August, 2004, at 8:15 a.m. Said Notice remained so posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of said Meeting.
