NOTICE OF MEETING

COMMISSIONERS COURT OF COMAL COUNTY TEXAS

NOTICE is hereby given that a REGULAR meeting of COMMISSIONERS COURT will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 8:30 AM in the Commissioners Courtroom, 100 Main Plaza, New Braunfels, Texas. You may visit our website at www.co.comal.tx.us for agenda postings.
Before each regular session will be an invocation and pledges to the flags. All persons in attendance are invited to participate or not at their own personal discretion.

CALL TO ORDER:

The following subjects will be discussed, considered, and acted upon:

1. Approve Claims.

2. Discuss and consider acceptance of the following donations to the Comal County Sheriff's Office Jr. Deputy Academy Camps:

a) Check #30462 from Woods Cycle Country LP for the amount of $200.00,

b) Check #1814 from Veterans of Foreign Wars #7110 for the amount of $1000.00,

c) Check #2677 from Mark Elder State Farm Agency for the amount of $100.00,

d) Check #5846 from Checkered Flag Automotive Inc. for the amount of $200.00,

e) Check #1322 from Kevin Wartsbaugh Edward Jones Investment Firm for the amount of $200.00.

3. Discuss and consider acceptance of donation check #1066 from the Canyon Lake Rotary Foundation for the amount of $250.00 to the Comal County Sheriff's Office Drug Awareness Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.).

WORKSHOP AGENDA:

1. Citizens’ Comments.

2. Update on meetings of the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Transportation Policy Board and Technical Advisory Committee.

3. Reports by County Staff and Elected Officials on items of Community interest.

 

ACTION AGENDA CONTINUED:

4. Discuss and consider approval of the Amendment to Plat, The Overlook at River Crossing, combining Lots 30 and 31, establishing Lot 30R. (Pct. 1)

5. Discuss and consider setting the time, date, and place for a public hearing to consider the replacement of yield signs with stop signs in the following locations: on Village Drive at its intersection with Village View Drive, on Village Shore Drive at its intersection with Village View Drive, on Village Shore Drive at its intersection with the confluence of Village View Drive and Village Shore Drive, on Village Shore Drive at its intersection with O.C. Trout Drive, and on Village Shore Drive at its intersection with Village Shore Drive, all within Village Shores Subdivision. (Pct. 1)

6. Discuss and consider approval of the Amendment to Plat, Canyon Lake Hills, Unit No. 1, combining Lots 673 and 674, establishing Lot 673R. (Pct. 1)

7. Discuss and consider acceptance of surety extensions for Irrevocable Standby Letters of Credit No. 25662-S and No. 25730-S for storm water drainage improvements within Comal Texas Star Subdivision, Unit One, or direct the County Engineer to take appropriate action. (Pct. 1)

8. Discuss and consider approval of the Amendment to Plat, Stallion Springs, Unit 3, combining Lots 227 and 228, establishing Lot 227R. (Pct. 4)

9. Discuss and consider approval of the Amendment to Plat, Netherhill Place Subdivision, combining Lots 16 and 17, establishing Lot 16R. (Pct. 4)

10. Discuss and consider approval of Amendment No. 1 to Agreement between Comal County and Transunion Risk and Alternative Data Solutions, Inc. and authorize the County Judge to sign.

11. Discuss and consider approval of the 2015 Budget Schedule with budget hearings to be held July 7 through July 9, 2014.

12. Discuss and consider approval of the Bexar Metro 9-1-1 Network District Proposed Fiscal Year 2015 Budget.

 

13. EXECUTIVE SESSIONS:

In accordance with Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, Subchapter D, Commissioners Court may convene in a closed session to discuss any of the following items; any final action or vote taken will be in public.

(A) Deliberate and consider the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property, in accordance with Section 551.072, of the Texas Government Code.

(B) Deliberate issues regarding economic development negotiations in accordance with Section 551.087, of the Texas Government Code.

(C) Deliberate pending/ contemplated litigation, settlement offer(s), and matters concerning privileged and unprivileged client information deemed confidential by Rule 1.05 of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct in accordance with Section 551.071, of the Texas Government Code.

NOTE: Commissioners Court reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this Agenda whenever it is considered necessary and legally justified under the Open Meetings Act (Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code).
