COMMISSIONERS COURT OF COMAL COUNTY TEXAS

NOTICE is hereby given that a REGULAR meeting of COMMISSIONERS COURT will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 8:30 AM in the Commissioners Courtroom, 100 Main Plaza, New Braunfels, Texas. You may visit our website at www.co.comal.tx.us for agenda postings. Before each regular session will be an invocation and pledges to the flags. All persons in attendance are invited to participate or not at their own personal discretion.

The following subjects will be discussed, considered, and acted upon:

1. Approve Claims.

2. Discuss and consider acceptance of the following donation checks to be deposited to the Comal County Sheriff's Office Jr. Deputy Academy Camps Donation Line Item #010-000-2348:

A) Check #169 from Connie Nicholas for $20.00,

B) Check #2860 from Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Johnson for $50.00,

C) Check #3829 from Mr. and Mrs. Chris Smith for $100.00,

D) Check #6880 from Mr. and Mrs. Francisco Avila for $100.00,

E) Check #245 from Mr. and Mrs. Dietz for $75.00, and

F) Check #4354 from Mr. and Mrs. Krippendorpf for $100.00.

WORKSHOP AGENDA:

1. Citizens’ Comments.

2. Reports by County Staff and Elected Officials on items of Community interest.

3. Presentation of the Public Health July 2014 Report.

 

ACTION AGENDA CONTINUED:

3. Discuss and consider approval of Agreement between Comal County, Texas, and Dorothy Overman, M.D. for Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response, and authorize County Judge to sign.

4. Discuss and consider approval of a street name change from Sienna to Vesuvio, within Vintage Oaks at the Vineyard, Unit 8. (Pct. 1)

5. Discuss and consider approval of the Amendment to Plat, Ensenada Shores at Canyon Lake, Unit Three, combining Lots 9 and 10, establishing Lot 9R. (Pct. 1)

6. Discuss and consider approval of Google Imagery Agreement and authorize County Judge to sign.

7. County Judge presents recommended budget to Commissioners Court and files with the County Clerk.

8. Discuss and consider approval of State Case Registry and Local Customer Service Cooperative Agreement between the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Texas and Comal County, Texas (Contract No. 15-C0018), and authorize County Judge to sign.

9. Discuss and consider approval of Order #345 Ordering a Special Election to be held on November 4, 2014 for the purpose of expanding the Canyon Lake Community Library District's territory.

10. Discuss and consider approval of the 2014 Comal County Community Plan and submit to the Alamo Area Council of Governments.

11. Discuss and consider approval of a budget amendment in the General Fund, FROM: General Fund Reserves, TO: County Court at Law #1 - Capital Equipment and County Court at Law #2 - Capital Equipment to cover the actual cost of the audio/visual systems for the courtrooms.

12. Discuss and consider approval of a line-item transfer in the Jail, FROM: Building Improvements, TO: Capital Equipment to cover the cost of replacing the audio/visual equipment in the County Emergency Operations Center and Sheriff' office training room.

13. Discuss and consider approval of Interlocal Agreement with Region VIII Education Service Center and authorize County Judge to sign.

14. Discuss and consider approval of Ford Audio Visual Proposal for replacement A/V systems for County Court at Law #1, County Court at Law #2, and the Sheriff's Office Training Room and authorize Purchasing Director to execute all related documents.

 

15. EXECUTIVE SESSIONS:

In accordance with Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, Subchapter D, Commissioners Court may convene in a closed session to discuss any of the following items; any final action or vote taken will be in public.

(A) Deliberate and consider the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property, in accordance with Section 551.072, of the Texas Government Code.

(B) Deliberate issues regarding economic development negotiations in accordance with Section 551.087, of the Texas Government Code.

(C) Deliberate pending/ contemplated litigation, settlement offer(s), and matters concerning privileged and unprivileged client information deemed confidential by Rule 1.05 of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct in accordance with Section 551.071, of the Texas Government Code.

NOTE: Commissioners Court reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this Agenda whenever it is considered necessary and legally justified under the Open Meetings Act (Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code).
