COMMISSIONERS COURT OF COMAL COUNTY TEXAS

NOTICE is hereby given that a REGULAR meeting of COMMISSIONERS COURT will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 8:30 AM in the Commissioners Courtroom, 100 Main Plaza, New Braunfels, Texas. 1. Retirement Recognition of Kathy H. Faulkner for over eighteen years of dedicated service in the District Clerk's Office and to the citizens of Comal County.

4. Reports by County Staff and Elected Officials on items of Community interest.

ACTION AGENDA CONTINUED:

2. Discuss and consider approval of the Amendment to Plat, Canyon Lake Forest, Unit No. 1, combining Lots 204, 205, and 206, establishing Lot 204R. (Pct. 1)

3. Discuss and consider approval of a variance request to the 25’ front building setback for Lot A, Woodlands Subdivision, Unit Eight.(Pct. 1)

4. Discuss and consider approval of a private street name, Kings Way, situated off FM 1863 approximately 3/4 mile southwest of the intersection of FM 1863 and SH 46 W. (Pct. 2)

5. Discuss and consider approval of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Recreational Trails Grant Application for Kleck Park and authorize the Comal County Parks Manager to execute all related documents. (Pct. 2)

6. Discuss and consider approval of refunds (over $2,500.00) of ad valorem tax overpayments or erroneous payments and authorize the Comal County Tax Assessor-Collector to remit refund payments.

7. Discuss and consider approval of updated Comal County Employee Handbook, to be effective January 1, 2015.

8. Discuss and consider accepting sole source statement from Purchasing Director and consider approval of Order #350 for the Discretionary Exemption of Tyler Technologies for the support and maintenance of Odyssey.

9. Discuss and consider approval of the Public Official Bonds for the Criminal District Attorney, County Judge, Judge County Court at Law #1, District Clerk, County Clerk, Treasurer, Commissioner Precinct #2, Commissioner Precinct #4, Justice of the Peace #1, Justice of the Peace #2, Justice of the Peace #3, and Justice of the Peace #4.

10. Discuss and consider approval of Public Information Officer position (E8), corresponding job description and budget amendment for a salary of up to $61,462.12.

11. Discuss and consider approval of updated job descriptions and FLSA status for the following positions:

a) County Court at Law #1 Court Reporter; and

b) County Court at Law #2 Court Reporter.

12. Discuss and consider filling the County Extension Agent – 4-H position in Comal County according to the recommendation of the Texas A&M AgriLife District Extension Administrator.

13. Discuss and consider approval of a line-item transfer in Commissioners Court, FROM: Travel, Pct. #4, TO: Office Supplies, to cover the expense of outside printing of the communication committee report.

14. EXECUTIVE SESSIONS:

In accordance with Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, Subchapter D, Commissioners Court may convene in a closed session to discuss any of the following items; any final action or vote taken will be in public.

(A) Deliberate and consider the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property, in accordance with Section 551.072, of the Texas Government Code.

(B) Deliberate issues regarding economic development negotiations in accordance with Section 551.087, of the Texas Government Code.

(C) Deliberate pending/ contemplated litigation, settlement offer(s), and matters concerning privileged and unprivileged client information deemed confidential by Rule 1.05 of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct in accordance with Section 551.071, of the Texas Government Code.

NOTE: Commissioners Court reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this Agenda whenever it is considered necessary and legally justified under the Open Meetings Act (Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code).
