Teen Court - JP3

Tell me about Teen Court?

Teen Court affords the teenage offender, charged with a Class C Misdemeanor, an opportunity to voluntarily participate in the Connections Community Teen Court program and avoid paying fines and costs to the courts by successfully completing restitution to our community through community service, educational classes and juror service.

A jury of his peers will try the teenage offender and a teenage prosecutor and defense attorney will argue the case.  A teenage bailiff will also be present to maintain order in the courtroom.  An adult Judge will preside over the Teen Court.  These are actual cases being tried and the sentence handed down by the Teen Court has legal standing.

Judge Diana Guerrero

100 Main Plaza, Suite 305

New Braunfels, Texas 78130

Phone: (830) 221-1133

Fax: (830) 620-3465

If the teenage offender successfully completes his sentence, the case is dismissed.  Failure to comply with the Teen Court’s sentence will result in the case being returned to the appropriate court and a Final Conviction, with Fines and Cost due and owing, will be entered against the teenager.
