Step 4 of 6 APPLICANT STANDARDS The Comal County Sheriff’s Office has adopted the following standards for the selection process of new applicants for Corrections Officers, Sheriff’s Deputies, Reserve Deputies, and Communications Officers as indicated. Our policies and standards will conform to affirmative action guidelines. ALL applicants must have a valid Texas Drivers License. Applicants must comply with licensing requirements of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) and as required for the applicable posted job position/description.
The applicant shall comply with the standards of the Comal County Sheriff’s Office;
CHARACTER: All applicants must be of good moral character and habits. Any applicant, who has been charged or convicted of a Class B Misdemeanor or a crime of moral turpitude within the last 10 years, shall be disqualified and not eligible for hiring. Anyone charged, or convicted of a Class A Misdemeanor or above shall not be eligible for hiring. TRAFFIC RECORDS: (not applicable to Communications Officers) Applicant must not currently be on probation for any traffic offense.
