WHEREAS, The Alamo Workforce Development Board (d.b.a. Alamo WorkSource) was created by Chief Local Elected Officials of the Alamo Workforce Development Area, and was certified by George W. Bush, Governor of Texas, as a local workforce development board under the terms of The Workforce and Economic Competitiveness Act in the fall of 1996; and

WHEREAS, The organization is now celebrating its 10^th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The mission of Alamo WorkSource is to build a premier workforce in America by providing employers and residents with the opportunities, resources and services to develop and gain a competitive edge in the global economy; and

WHEREAS, The Alamo WorkSource Board, serving as the leadership and governing body for the regional workforce system has contributed to the economic growth and prosperity of the Alamo region through its collaborative and innovative efforts.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Commissioners’ Court of Comal County, duly convened and acting in its capacity as the governing body of Comal County does hereby recognize the ten year anniversary of Alamo WorkSource and the service and accomplishments of the Alamo WorkSource board.
