Recognizing the
20th Anniversary
of the New Braunfels Service League
“Celebrating
Our Community”
WHEREAS,
the New Braunfels Service League was established as a 501(c)(3)
organization in 1987 and does not discriminate on the basis of
race, creed, religion, or national origin; and
WHEREAS,
it’s purpose is to serve our community, and promote
volunteerism; and
WHEREAS,
it’s purpose is to empower women in this community through the
sponsorship and participation in volunteer, educational and
social activities; and

through the countless
thousands of hours of volunteer support contributed to
charitable organizations in our county; and
·
through the granting of
scholarships to local high school seniors who show a true
commitment to community service; and
WHEREAS,
by reaching out to help their neighbors in need,
the women, past and present, of the
New Braunfels Service League, have dedicated their time, talents
and energy to make a difference in the lives of others in Comal
County through the essential contributions to both nonprofit
organizations, as well as individuals and families in our
county.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that
the Commissioners Court of Comal County, duly convened and
acting in its capacity as the governing body of Comal County,
does hereby recognize October 2006 as the month of
“Celebrating Our Community.”
We encourage all citizens
to help strengthen and improve our community, to find
ways to help others and to serve a cause greater than
themselves. We invite you to celebrate the important work that
volunteers do every day, and urge you to “Catch the Spirit”
of the New Braunfels Service League during its 20th
year of community service, and get involved in making Comal
County a better place for us all.
