Honoring the Pantermuehl-Halm
Ranch for Over 100 Years
of Continuous Agricultural Production
in Comal County
WHEREAS, Comal
County and it’s citizens are proud of it’s many farmers and
ranchers that have held onto their families’ land through
prosperity and adversity, never losing sight of the goal-
keeping the dreams of their ancestors alive while making a
living off the land; and
WHEREAS,
the Texas Department of Agriculture and Comal County
Genealogy
Society are actively engaged in locally
promoting the recognition and preservation of these treasures
through the Family Land Heritage Program; and
WHEREAS,
the Pantermuehl-Halm Ranch that was begun in 1878 and 1979
by
Heinrich and Dorothea (Preuesser-Schlather)
Erxleben & Carl and Agnes (Friedrich) Pantermuehl and operated
continuously by their descendents, Marie (Erxleben) & Alfred
Pantermuehl, Egon and Vera (Preusser) Pantermuehl, Verde Lee (Pantermuehl)
& Walter
Halm, their children Barney, Joe, Leslie
and Phyllis (Halm) Jones for over 100 years.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED
that the Commissioners’ Court of Comal County, duly convened and
acting in its capacity as the governing body of Comal County,
does hereby adopt this Proclamation and gives its unanimous
support to the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Family Land
Heritage Program and honors the Pantermuehl-Halm Ranch and it’s
current owners, Verde Lee (Pantermuehl) & Walter Halm and their
children Barney, Joe, Leslie and Phyllis (Halm) Jones for their
dedication to keeping Heinrich and Dorothea & Carl and Agnes’
dream alive.
