CHAMPION
Proclamation RECOGNIZING ReMAX JR. WORLD LONG DRIVE
CHAMPION WHEREAS, ASHLEY KATHLEEN PATTERSON, a 17 year old senior at New Braunfels Christian Academy High School, is beginning her 4th year on the women’s Varsity Golf Team and; and WHEREAS, ASHLEY has qualified to go to District, Regional and State women’s high school golf competitions the past three years; and WHEREAS, ASHLEY was a member of the first women’s golf team in history to go to Class 4A-State competition representing New Braunfels High School in Spring of 2005; and WHEREAS, ASHLEY won the 2005 ReMax Jr. Long Drive Championship for Women 16-18 years of age last June in San Antonio, Texas, qualifying her to compete in the National Jr. Long Drive Women’s Golf Championship; and WHEREAS, ASHLEY placed as one of the top three golfers in the 2005 ReMax Jr. National Long Drive Championship for Women 16-18 years of age in July in Blaine, Minnesota, qualifying her to compete in the ReMax Jr. World Long Drive championship; and WHEREAS, ASHLEY won the 2005 REMAX JR. WORLD LONG DRIVE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR WOMEN 16-18 YEARS OF AGE last July in Blaine, Minnesota, being filmed by ESPN driving the winning golf shot of 252 yards which was shown on television several times during December 2005 and January 2006; and WHEREAS, ASHLEY was presented with an exemption to compete in the ReMax World Long Drive Championship for Women last November in Mesquite, Nevada, where she placed 9th among professional women competitors; and WHEREAS, ASHLEY will be traveling to Fort Worth, Texas, this July 13th - 15th to defend her ReMax Jr. Women’s World Champion Long Drive title; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Commissioners’ Court of Comal County, duly convened and acting in its capacity as the governing body of Comal County, does hereby recognize ASHLEY KATHLEEN PATTERSON as the ReMax Jr. World Long Drive Champion for Women 16-18 years of age, and sends her off to defend her title with the full support of her county government. PASSED AND APPROVED this the 13th day of July 2006.
