Naming the Week of May 4 – 10, 2008 as “Small Business Week in Comal County” and Recognizing Dee and Terry Buck of Buck Pottery as Comal County’s Small Business Persons of the Year

 

     WHEREAS, Small Businesses represent 99.7 percent of all employers in our Country; and

     WHEREAS, Small Businesses account for the majority of new jobs; and

     WHEREAS, Small Businesses are more flexible in responding to shifting markets and are able to bring new products to market faster; and

     WHEREAS, Small Businesses provide the first job for most entrants to the labor force; and

     WHEREAS, in keeping with a forty–three year practice, Small Business Week 2008 was proclaimed by President George W. Bush.

      NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Commissioners’ Court of Comal County, Texas, duly convened and acting in its capacity as the governing body of Comal County does hereby name May 4 – 10, 2008   as “Small Business Week in Comal County” and recognizes Dee and Terry Buck of Buck Pottery as Comal County’s Small Business Persons of the Year and urges all citizens to observe this week and recognize the Small Businessmen and Women of Comal County for their achievements and contributions to the economy of New Braunfels.

 

     PASSED AND APPROVED this the 1st day of May 2008.
