Well Water Safety
Welcome to the Well Water Safety Webpage.
If floodwaters have covered your well, or if you’re well water is cloudy,
has an odor, or contains particles, then assume that your well has been
contaminated and must be disinfected and tested before the water is safe to drink.

Information regarding disinfecting and testing may be obtained from New Braunfels Utilities during normal working hours Monday-Friday. You may call the NBU Laboratory at 830-620-5098.
If there is any question about the safety of your water, do NOT drink it-drink bottled or boiled water ONLY. You should bring water to rolling boil for at least ten minutes to kill bacteria.
