    The Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer for the county. The sheriff is responsible for operating the county jail and controlling all prisoners within the jail. It is the Sheriff's responsibility to investigate crimes, make arrests, serve writs, appoint deputies and maintain communications with municipal and state law enforcement operations within the county.

    Citizens Sheriff's Academy

    The Citizens Sheriff's Academy is a week long training class rated A+ for its content and quality of instruction. Classes start in late February or early March.

    Junior Deputy's Academy

    This is an outstanding week long class for our youth. They learn all about law enforcement and being good citizens.
