Methods of Payment - Cash, Check, Cashiers
Check, Money Order, Credit Cards, (including online
payments). A required vendor’s fee of 2.5% will
apply to credit card payments. Please make
your payment payable to either: "Cathy C. Talcott"
or Comal County Tax Office.

Partial Payments – Your taxes are due upon
receipt of your statement. However, you may make
as many partial payments as you like until January 31 without incurring
a penalty.

Four Equal Installments for Over-65
or Disabled – For those who have qualified for
these exemptions
through the Comal Appraisal District, you may check
the box on your payment stub to make four equal
payments. Note the payment schedule to avoid late
fees. Your intent in writing must
accompany your first payment of 1/4 of your total by
January 31st.

Express Payment Line
– Available last week of
January for those wishing to pay inside our office in person.
A payment
stub is required.

Express Drive-Thru – January
31, 2011 – Enter from
Bridge Street & drop off your payment from the
comfort of your vehicle. Payments must include
payment stub and should be in a
sealed envelope. We will mail you a receipt.
*Failure
to receive a tax bill does not affect the validity of
the tax, penalty, or interest, the due date, the
existence of a tax lien, or any procedure instituted to
collect a tax (Section 31.01 (g), Texas Property Tax
Code). If you have not received your statement by the
end of October, please call our office, and we will
confirm your address and mail you a copy. You may also
view a copy of your statement on our website.
*If you
choose to mail your payment, please be sure it is
postmarked on or before January 31 in order to avoid
incurring penalty and interest charges. (If January 31
falls on a weekend or holiday, we will honor the
postmark and/or payment on the next business day.)
If you desire a receipt for your mailed payment, please
include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
*If you
have arranged for your mortgage company to pay your
taxes, but you have received the statement
instead, please write your loan number on your statement
and immediately send it to your mortgage company.
*State
law automatically places a tax lien on property on
January 1st of each year to insure that taxes
are paid. The person who owned the property on January
1st of the tax year is personally liable for
the tax, even if the property were sold during the year.
