Motor vehicle registration and titling in Texas is done in the county of residence.  State law requires the Comal County Tax Assessor-Collector to act as an agent for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).  The Comal County Tax Assessor-Collector and his employees collect over $6 million in motor vehicle registration and titling fees and process approximately 110,000 registration and titling transactions per year.
