General Jury Information - County Courts at Law #1 and #2
Once you receive your Jury Summons Card, you MUST fill it out and mail the card or submit the card on-line.
PLEASE NOTE- your jury summons gives the week that you are to report. YOUR TIME IS VALUABLE. Jury trials start on different days and different times during that week. You MUST call or visit our website on the Friday before your scheduled week’s service to determine the correct day and time to appear.
*** Reporting location depends on the court you were summoned to; please look at the summons for the reportig location CCL#1 or CCL#2.

Please note- you will not be asked for your social security number when filling out your jury summons card. This is also true if a court clerk contacts you about your jury duty. Deferment of jury duty – If you received a jury summons and have a conflict, under certain circumstances you may be eligible to reschedule your jury duty. Deferments are subject to the needs of the court. If the court’s needs change your reschedule date may change. Generally you may only postpone your jury duty for one to two months. The preferred way to request a deferment of jury duty is to call the jury clerk at 830-221-1248 then press #2 Civil/Jury. You may also fill out jury summons card on-line with your information and in the comment section request your deferment or you may email one of the jury clerks at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org

10:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to jury week.
If you email a request please include all the information listed below.
- Your name exactly as it appears on your summons
- Your jury summons number
- The date you are summonsed to serve
- The court you are summoned for.
- If there is any incorrect information on the summons please note what information needs to be corrected.
Temporary exemptions or disqualifications: Please refer to your summons card and select the General Qualification that you do not meet or the exemption you wish to claim. Make sure you have the top of the card filled out as well and that you provide a working phone number that we can contact you at if we have any questions.
Permanent Exemptions: If you wish to claim a permanent exemption you must complete this form Juror's Affidavit of Exemption. Print the form out, complete it and sign it, then mail it back to the court that summoned you. If you are requesting the permanent exemption based on medical reasons (either physical or mental) you must have your doctor verify your permanent inability to be on a jury, on his/her own office letterhead and send it in with your form.
