Commissioners Court Agendas & Approved Minutes of Meetings
The Commissioners Court convenes in a regular session each Thursday at 8:30 a.m. The County Clerk is the Clerk of the Commissioners Court and serves the court during each of its meetings. The Clerk also posts notices of the agenda, takes minutes of all actions, records, and indexes the minutes of those meetings. The Clerk keeps the official seal of the court and performs all such other duties as may be prescribed by law. Since the fundamental responsibility of the County Clerk is the preparation of Minutes of the Commissioners Court meetings, from a historical as well as legal perspective this process of officially recording all due proceedings carries tremendous implications for the function of the County.
Constant attention to details, deadlines, and documents is required. The duties described in Local Government Code Section 81.003 are vested exclusively with the clerk or deputy clerk and cannot be delegated to other persons.
