Comal County Constables

A Constable is a licensed peace officer elected by the community within a specific precinct. As with all elected county officials, the Constable has ultimate authority over the operations of the office. The Constable also has authority to determine how to use all resources allocated to the office during the budget process.
A Constable and his/her Deputy Constables primarily focus on serving civil court orders necessary to the functioning of both the civil and criminal justice systems, executing warrants, serves as bailiff for the Justice Courts, as well as maintains the peace within their precinct and county jurisdiction.
Essentially, they are law enforcement officers with a strong emphasis on civil process and have the same arrest powers as other police officers within their area of authority.
